The rise of the beer snob

Like any other hobby, if you can call beer drinking a hobby, you will get the know-it-alls and and the know nothings. I see it everywhere. Stereo/Audio snobs and know it alls that talk down to people, Car snobs that barely drive their vehicle, but know it's the best because either they paid...

New to Kegging. How to disassemble tower/lines?

A dremel with a cut-off wheel comes to mind, but just deep enough not to score the fitting underneath.

Had my first clogged dip tube...

I have had this happen and just blew CO2 back through the Liquid side using a liquid coupler and a CO2 line, much like force carbing.

    Kegerator question

I would add that if the CO2 tank is a Coke or Pepsi tank, which I doubt, you'll have a hard time getting it filled. With that being said a paintball supply place will usually fill it no questions asked. I got a Coke tank with a True cooler and no one would touch it and Coke didn't want it back...

Cream of Three Crops gone to cider

I would assume the plastic paddle is safe to boil and I will use it pre-boil from now on and get a stainless spoon for the wort. Good idea on using the fermenter as a Star San bucket after I bleach/vinegar bomb it. I am so glad that this happened on a cheap grain bill beer.

Cream of Three Crops gone to cider

Hi Folks, I have returned to the brewing scene after about 15 years. On my 6th batch. My 5th batch was an AG Cream of three Crops. Fermentation of 05 started about 15 hours after brewing. I had the beer in my basement which is about 67-68 degrees most of the time. Airlock smelled good for the...

    Leaky keg in the keezer

After many concussions and brain trauma, that's pretty much everyday for me. As Ralph Parker from the Christmas story would say "Don't bother me, I'm thinking"

    Better Call Saul

Chuck is a royal dick. I was hoping he would be stuck in a catatonic state for at least half a season.

    Propane burner issue

Just something to consider. If you accidentally had the burner valve open when you connected the tank to the regulator it will trigger the safety relief valve in the tank resulting in very low flow of gas. Learned that one a long time ago and committed it to memory.

From fermentation vessel to keg for aging and serving: how to?

I'm new here so take what I say with a grain of salt. I started back brewing after about 15 years. No bottling for me so I keg. My first batch back was an extract American Pale Ale. I fermented for 10 days in the primary and then right to the keg. (Forgot to add I cold crash for 2 days), I...

    Experiences with jury duty

I was on a criminal case jury and the trial went about 3 days. It was an insurance case that involved a rookie cop that lent a motorcycle to a friend who totalled it in a crash. The cop was being accused of buying insurance after the accident and then reporting the accident. The friend...
