    Anyone harvest yeast from Russian River beers? I did, from Pliny

    Straight from the brewery, I had a friend drive out from the west coast for the holidays, the bottles I had were loaded with yeast. Doesn't much matter if its just WLP001 I guess

    Forgot to mention that I pitched last night around 7pm and had krausen in the 1 1/4" blow off tube at 6am this morn, VERY active Also, if the yeast is contaminated, would it be worthwhile to pitch some more yeast that I know to be good?

    I followed some steps I found on here and had a good sized starter. It did smell a LITTLE sour, not vinegar or cheesy, and not that strong really. I kinda wondered if anyone has done this with Pliny or other Russian River beers. And if it had any of that similar odor. Nothing to do now but...
