    yeah i would agree on the nutmeg, i grate a little when cooking but figured since i wasn't grinding it, just smashing it, it wouldn't produce as much flavor.

    I hear you I use the blow off for carboy fermentation and probably should have off the bat considering I made a little over 6 gallons as opposed to 5. Luckily I caught it early so the closet rug isn't ruined.

    Made first all grain yesterday and used a yeast starter from white labs wlp001, today lid was popped and airlock is full of beer. Not overly concerned after reading other posts but should I abandon the airlock and make a blow off , clean airlock and fill with sanitizer, or let it be. Thanks

    How much sugar do u add to prime a 5 gal batch?

    You may want to grab the sugar tablets. They're easy to work with. Drop 3-4 in each bottle, fill and cap. I used them and bottled 13 kegged the rest

    Yes It does. The line is 3/16 and 4 1/2 ft. Ill start there but for now I'll fill pitcher and enjoy more

    Definitely gonna be 3. Currently everything is in the refrigerator. Line is only about the length of a keg tap id guess about 3-4 ft.

    Thanks for the replies, I purged and kept at 6 it's a Belgian ipa. Pour pressure seems fine but a little heady. Think ill take the advice and extend lines and up co2 to 10

    First batch finished, I bottled 13 and rest went to corny at 30 psi for 2 days. I turned gauge down to 6 psi to serve and pure head poured out. Am I supposed to purge out all air before setting to 6 psi.?
