Brewing AG winter warmer and adding 3 cinnamon sticks, 1 vanilla bean, 1/2 nut nutmeg crushed, and tbsp of ginger. Was going to add all in last 12 minutes of boil but thought about also adding another vanilla bean and nutmeg to the secondary. does this sound like it would come out to strong? its a 5 gallon batch.

I haven't used nutmeg in beer, but half of a nut is a HUGE amount of nutmeg. I'm sure it's different, but when cooking I usually just take a few passes across the microplaner. A little goes along way. I'd imagine the same for the ginger.

yeah i would agree on the nutmeg, i grate a little when cooking but figured since i wasn't grinding it, just smashing it, it wouldn't produce as much flavor.
