Other Half Daydream (oat cream IPAs) - all grain clone attempts

Tried our hand at one of these. Pretty please with how it came out! Citra, Krush, and HBC 638 on this one.

    Omega OYL-605 Lacto Blend Experiences

The stuff is aggressive for sure! We had similar experiences with it at home. Since scaling up, we've gone away from this method and used strictly Sourvisea. It's a bit safer of a process. Doesn't get as sour, but for our customers, it's perfect. Drops to about pH 3.5 for us every time.

Spike Mill seized up on me

That's what I did. Waiting on them, but figured I'd see if anyone had some insight here at the same time.

Spike Mill seized up on me

Anyone run into issues with the Spike Mill yet? I was running about 60lbs of Oat Malt through it. It made it through about 15 lbs and all of the sudden, it sounded terrible and the rollers actually stopped dead in their tracks. Dumped it all out and the rollers spin when it's turned on, but...

Brewer from the iGulu Beer Machine

[Content removed: Reply to deleted post -Mod] I have been seeing this thing all over my social media. It has a lot of pitfalls if you ask me, but I haven't done the research to investigate if the manufacturer negated the pitfalls one way or another. I would never buy one of these things to...

    Recipe advice

Sounds like you're asking for help with a recipe for something you're trying to throw together. In order to answer that, please answer the following. How much of the pils do you have? How much of the munich do you have? How much of the Hall Tradition hops do you have? How big of a batch are...

    Kölsch recipe thoughts

Omega Kolsch II (OYL-044) is a fantastic Kolsch yeast. We tried Koln from Lallemand and although it's not available, I actually wasn't a fan of that one. It was quite boring. OYL-044 has been a much better option. For lack of a better description, Koln really lacked the in what I would call...

Conical Users Large and Small: Do you even dump, bro?

Here's my 2 cents... 1. After the boil, we're chilling with a counterflow chilller and going into the tank. It's usually 70F once all in the tank. We'll pressurize a bit and chill to desired pitch temp. We let it sit for ~6 hours to let all the cold break and any hop matter settle and then...

What To Look For in a Grain Mill?

I'm also with those of you who said you pulled the trigger on a Spike Mill. That thing is amazing, best investment to date. I do find it interesting, though, that on our MM3 mill that we were using previously, we were milling at .036". In talking with the engineering team at Spike, they said...
