    large batch strawberry

If you make a 50 gallon batch of strawberry wine, do you multiply a 1 gallon recipe by 50? Seems like some of the quantities are a little overkill such as 50 campden and 10 paks of yeast.

You know you're a home brewer when?

Like when early man sat around the fire for comfort, warmth and protection, and to share stories of the day's hunt, you get the same feeling sitting around your carboys and primaries sharing stories of your homebrewing successes.

Your local welding supply might take your oxygen tank in trade for a refilled CO2 tank for a small charge. Then you will have a tank for CO2 that you can use to have refilled in the future. Good luck randyp

kegging vs. bottle aging high gravity

I like to keg my beer but I brew a lot of high gravity belgian styles that improve with age in the bottle after conditiong. Can I acheive the same flavor profiles by kegging? Most of these stay in the secondary for 5-8 months so have they already aged for that long or does the aging process not...

oxy. barrier caps won't seal for me.

This is the first time I have used those oxygen barrier caps. I was bottling a big belgian that I will let age for several months. I was using recycled piraat bottles and brand new 12oz. long necks. On the first 10 or so bottles the caps would not seal. Looked as if they were on crooked and you...
