    Actually the OG will be around 25P, mash thickness will be around 1.3qts/lb. The proportions are these: Pale Ale - 53% Munich - 10% Roasted Barley - 4.2% Chocolate - 3.8% Pale Chocolate - 7% C60 - 5% C120 - 4% Special B - 2% Oats - 11% Can you recommend some other software that would maybe...

Well I have around 13% roasted malts and 12% crystal so that is why my pH is really low.

I want to brew another RIS and i have the following water profile: pH: 7.8, Ca: 100ppm, Cl: 20ppm, SO4: 200ppm, Alkalinity: 80ppm. Dont know the Sodium content or other info. The thing is that after I get the info...

    Bitterness problem: 60min + whirpool VS 5min + whirpool

Well what I was looking to find out is wether or not those hops which I add at 60min will impart bitterness also in whirpool or all those volatile oils will vanish during the boil.

    Bitterness problem: 60min + whirpool VS 5min + whirpool

So, I know that adding hops late (let's say in the final 5 minutes) will impart bitterness also in whirpool if the temperature is high. My question is (probably a dumb one): if I add the hops at the begining of the boil (60min), will it impart the same bitterness when I whirpool as the hops...

Dry hopping during fermentation in large plastic bucket?

Hi, I plan on dry hopping for the first time during fermentation (or once the fermentation is about over, on day 3-4). The problem is that I have a large plastic bucket for fermentation, like this one: https://brouwlandprod-yappa.netdna-ssl.com/image/fancy/products-0176305.jpg and the...

    Imperial stout critique

From what I read cararoma and special b are a bit different so why wouldn't they work?

    Imperial stout critique

Nobody? Should I scale down Caraaroma to 3.5% and raise Caramunich to 3.5%?

    Imperial stout critique

Imperial stout malt bill - what do you think?

What about Special B? Ever tried it in a IS? I would like some really light plum notes.

Imperial stout malt bill - what do you think?

In this case I will use .5 roasted barley. Should I add the 0.4 that i've cut from roasted barley to the oats and use 1.4 of those?

Imperial stout malt bill - what do you think?

Yeah, the mash tun is a bit of a problem, I have a 7 gallon one. But It's my 2nd IS, the first one was also a big one and although I had some problems the OG and FG were almost spot on. Acutally I don't want a strong roast flavor i'd like a 50/50 roast(coffee) and chocolate.

Imperial stout malt bill - what do you think?

After many hours this is my final recipe. Do you think it's enough dark malt for a nice chocolate/coffee taste and aroma? My predicted OG will be 1.100. Also looking for that creamy/viscous mouthfeel. 6.5kg Pale Malt 300g CaraMunich 250g Carafa 300g Chocolate 400g Roasted Barley 450g...
