Ok so I have a pretty decent profile on my BIABasket setup that I built years before the 20 Gallon solo systems came out. But now a bunch of u are in the same boat as myself, so maybe I can improve a little.
My basket is not tapered and has 1in all the way around and is a 15gal kettle...
Does this seam chaotic. I did a ton of reading last night trying to nail down where I have been going wrong. I believe water profile is one. Plus going to high on ph and probably should adjust ph during boil too.
I’ve found I don’t like the dry hop during peak fermentation… and there was a ton...
So I went for it. I just used the calcium and gypsum the recipe originally called for which is way over kill, dissolved it in 120° water. Which doesn’t do much. But I don’t care at this point. It def helped. I will give it a few days. I’m letting it warm back up to room temp and see if the yeast...
I appreciate all the tips. I only put 8oz of hops total. It’s to good to change. Not only that! keezer failed five days before the party. So that’s been a ******** for sure!!!! And ate of tons of time. All is well tho. Should be a good time!!!!
It’s not the only beer. I got three on tap plus seltzer. And yeah it’s rushed. But it’s delicious. I drank three glass right off the sample tube last night.
I’m on day two of cold crash. She’s sitting at 33°. Tomorrow night if it’s still tasting pretty rough I’ll add something to it. Not sure where to even start. Party is Saturday. I let this one go 17days in fermenter and did dry hops super late. So this is a shot in the dark beer anyways.
This was my thought. What a screw up. Hahahah. I was just to tired from the three 4am brew days prior.
I cold crashed it today. See what happens. I hope it doesn’t end up down the drain. Kegging on Saturday.
I brewed the IPA early in the morning. Just so happens I forgot to put salt in the mash. Is there any chance I could add the salts now in fermentation of the beer or am I smoking crack
All done with r/o water. PH was ok. Finished 1.010 for 6.3%
That’s funny I’m the opposite. I use it on my hot side now. But I did because I have two elements I use at the same time and I needed the balanced load. It switches between the elements rapidly never using more then 30amp draw and never fires the two at the same time. Giving priority to which...
