Why do you need to wire it like that? Can't you just plug the AC direct into the inkbird?
I just bypassed the thermostat and plugged the ac into the inkbird.
Oh no I don't use the cip at all. I could see using it for one of the larger conicals maybe but did the cf5 and cf10 it doesn't seem needed. Being able to take the lid off is one of the best feature of this unitank over some others imo.
I looked around to see if there was any good cheaper options but I just went with the one from spike. It works really well and fits perfectly so I think it's probably just worth biting the bullet.
Nice! The carb stone is one of my favorite parts about the conical. It's awesome not having to worry about carbing in the keg. Its perfect right out of the conical every time!
Its working out well! I can cold crash to 36 easily and hold the temp there. If I added more insulation I could probably get lower but 36 is fine. I have cold crashed and carbed 3 batches now with no issues.
Currently I am only chilling one but I plan on adding another eventually. I think...
A more fair comparison is probably to the ss unitank. Some good info in this thread!

For my last 4-5 brews I got really lazy and decided to try to make a starter without boiling the dme at all. I just threw it into a sanitized flask, poured in 70 degree water, mixed it up with stir plate and then pitched the yeast into it.
So far no issues with infection so far but I can't help...
