Not sure scientifically speaking but I'm sure someone will weigh in. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable using them. I think what you did was a little excessive. I would start over. Good luck! :mug:
I brewed this on Wednesday. Everything went as smooth as could be..except...I forgot to take a gravity reading before I sealed the lid and put the air lock in. haha. No biggie. I steeped the grains between 150-160. This thing bubbled away within 24 hours but it also halted within 24 hours...
I think that saying it's easier to leave in primary because it's extra work to secondary is valid. I was just saying in another thread that this comes down to preference and not waniting to do extra work makes sense as far as a reason why one wouldn't secondary. Where I think it gets heated is...
Yeah but this is just a personal preference. If you make great beer that you've racked to secondary with no infections then why would you worry about contamination? I've never had that issue. I can see why someone would be scared to do a secondary if you messed up a batch and got infected but...
