    Dry Hop With Coffee Beans

Did 8oz of whole beans for about 48 hours. A few times during the 48 hours I would very gently stir the beans on top to mix everything up a bit. Came out phenomenal! Awesome coffee aroma, and even better coffee taste. I will never add coffee any other way!

    Dry Hop With Coffee Beans

So I've gotten 2oz, 4oz, 10oz, 16oz as suggestions with good success haha. I guess it probably depends on a lot of things; Beer style, ABV, contact time, whole or cracked/ground, temp, type of bean. I think I will try 8oz of whole beans and just check on it every 24 hours or so. Thanks...

Thanks for the info. I think I'm gonna dump in 8oz of whole beans and see what happens!

    Dry Hop With Coffee Beans

I have read a bunch of threads here about adding coffee to beer and the resounding response I see is to cold brew coffee and add it to the beer. I have done this a few times and I don't get the coffee flavor that I am looking for. With my imperial stout, I would like to add cracked whole bean...

    1st NEIPA!

Well one thing has sucked about this. I ferment in an old fridge with an Inkbird temp controller, works great. I put the finished, carbed bottles in the fridge and had just the fridge running, no temp controller. Fridge must had no regulator or whatever because I grabbed a bottle to drink today...

    1st NEIPA!

Kolsch Yeast in a NEIPA? I’ll have to look into that strain, wouldn’t have ever thought of that. Thanks!

    1st NEIPA!

Recently brewed my 1st NEIPA. I was worried about bottling it with some of the oxidation horror stories, but it turned out great! 10lbs 2-row 1lb wheat 1lb oats .5 lb crystal 20 1oz Magnum @45 minutes 1oz Each Citra, Simcoe, Motueka at whirlpool 1oz each Citra, Simcoe, Motueka at 48 hrs post...

    Krausen not dropping?

Well hopefully not too higher!! I started cold crashing tonight and everything has begun to fall. I'm bottling tomorrow. After I brewed I started to see all of the horror stories about these oxidizing so badly when bottling. Hope I can avoid that

    Krausen not dropping?

My temps stayed pretty steady. Started mash at 153.1 and ended at 152.6*. Could possibly be a measuring error, taking a sample with a thief I get some of the krausen trub in my standing tube that I measure in. It's a very small amount, but I wonder if that could affect it?

    Krausen not dropping?

The krausen not dropping, or the gravity dropping too low?

    Krausen not dropping?

Took another gravity reading today. 1.009!! Not sure why it's dropping so much. Mashed at 153*

    Krausen not dropping?

I brewed a NEIPA on Monday 4/2/18. SG of 1.060 and I pitched a starter with WLP066 London Fog. Fermentation was nice and steady when I checked it Tuesday morning. I dry hopped 48 hours post pitch. I took a gravity reading on Saturday and got 1.014. Haven't taken another sample yet, but it still...

    Fermentation Chamber

Awesome! I think I'll get a PC fan to add in. I really like the base you have built for the bottom of the fridge

    Fermentation Chamber

Don't know why this wouldn't show up

    Fermentation Chamber

Finished! Do I need to cover the light bulb with something? It is a 60w I ended up buying the pre-wired Ink Bird. Was really easy to set up and looks better. Can anyone point me to a good guide on temperature controlling do's and don't's?
