    I started in Nov. with 4 gals of apple juice and 4 pounds of honey and champane yeast let it run for 6'ish months then added a pound of fresh strawberry slurry (blenderized) been going now for 2 more months should be ready in 2 or 3 more months me thinks ...

    Your "kitchen sink" brew

    great thread ,it happened today went and started what was going to be my standard 2-2-2 (2lb of lme,2 lb,dme , 2lb mini mash grain ) so I got the grains going and go look in the lme bottle (18 lb half way used and it's got mold in it ,dang now what ?) fast checking and I still have 2 lbs...

    it would be a hard pick for me Lagunitas or New Belgium or SN I could live with any of them.

    Do I need to secondary this ?

    Thanks I have frooze and thawed the berries three times in prepration for making a slurry which worked good before , do i have to use/ need campden ? i have not used it before.

    I started with 4 gal of unfiltered apple juice and 4 lbs of honey and pitched wine yeast. That was in December, so far it's cleared /looks ok nice cake on the bottom. Now I want to add 2 lbs of strawberries{in a slurry} and let it go for another month , then add frozen apple juice to back...

    Wash it or create a fresh starter????

    Do half n half ,then compare how the beers turn out in a side by side taste test I have and do both.

    O2 in a starter

    splintered stanless steel thingy i got from morebeer ,it foamed up the wort real nice ,this is a 20 cubic ft tank with a welding regulator from harbor freght.

    Can to much pure O2 in a starter make the yeast unhappy ? I fear i may have over done it last night on a 2 qt starter with the o2 (first time with o2 tank ok) ?:ban:
