    Storage oops question

I have been on the brewing hiatus for the last year due to us selling our previous house, living with the in laws, and buying a new house. Well I had/have a bunch of base grain that I stored in our storage unit in these types of tubs...

    A quick electric question

This was actually what I was thinking, or if I didn't use a whirlpool, at least the heat would be more evenly distributed...

    A quick electric question

OK, thanks! That makes perfect sense. This would be in the brew kettle only.

    A quick electric question

I'm going to be switching over to electric and want to run something by you guys. I searched and could not find the answer. Is it possible/plausible to mount the heating element through the bottom of the kettle? Is there any possible problems with this?

    Starting my own brew stand...

As it stands right now, the HLT will be around 5'6" at the top, while the mash tun will be a comfortable height for me. I am going to look into a high temp pump for transferring water from the HLT to the mash tun, but I don't particularly want to deal with pulling a pump apart and cleaning it...

    Starting my own brew stand...

Decided I'm sick of stacking burners and coolers on random staggered objects to be able to brew... So I've started designing one... Before someone asks, the reason why both burners are on the left side is because I plan on using a range hood over those pots to help mitigate fumes and water vapor.

    Grain preparation question

Thank you for your responses! The thought had just popped into my head while I was on the way home from work.

    Grain preparation question

Does anyone know if there is a reason to not preheat the grain, say in an oven, to the proper temperature so that you do not need to fiddle with temperature calculators?

Cheap pump and FDA approved 12v 100c

Has anyone looked into trying something like this? http://www.harborfreight.com/heavy-duty-drill-powered-pump-98384.html Combine that with a cheap harbor freight drill, and you wouldn't need to worry about voltage adapters....

    Pin-lock gas in disconnect repair

Through a shear act of idiocy, I had a problem last night with a burr on one of my pin-lock posts. The burr scratched the plastic on the inside of the disconnect and it now slowly leaks. Does anyone know if there is a way to repair the scratches on the inside of the disconnect?
