    Bulk primed keg

Thanks mate. Appreciate the help. Looking forward to this one. More or less bulk primed as the beer was in need of packaging and I had no room in the keezer

    Bulk primed keg

Hello, I’ve recently bulk primed a keg. The keg has been carbonating for 9 days at approx. 19c. In the meantime, another keg has kicked, opening up space in my keezer. My question is whether or not the beer will continue to carbonate if I place it in my 4c keezer, or will the yeast: - go...

Sanitation of dry yeast packaged individually from bulk

Thanks mate. That’s good assurance. I’m the first to admit I’m a bit overly sensitive when it comes to brewing. Don’t want a tiny variable making all of the labour for nought

Stir plate heat switch accidentally left on

I’m tipping it’d have been above 38c had to throw on the brewing gloves and use a tea towel to transport the flask. Oh well... at least I’ll know for next time to have a go with it (this is of course hoping there isn’t a next time)

Stir plate heat switch accidentally left on

I ended up not risking it. [emoji30] the flask was way too hot. Sacrificed a $13.50 AUD sachet and will just use 05 tomorrow. Wish wyeast would make 1217 year round. I love it

Sanitation of dry yeast packaged individually from bulk

Picked up some dry yeast today from A lhbs that I don’t normally shop at. It seems they break down bulk packs into individual vac sealed packets (website info in photo). Has anyone had any experience with these oversized sachets (be it US-05 or S-04)? I guess my concern is sanitation /...

Stir plate heat switch accidentally left on

‍♂️[emoji30]‍♂️[emoji30] Long day at work, came home to make a starter for the weekend... after my starter has been on the stir plate for an hour I detect a burning smell. Turns out the heat switch on my stir plate was somehow switched on. My flask is heaps warm to the touch. Is it fair to...

    Hop bill help

That’s great mate. Thank you. I should’ve mentioned I’ve already got that grain bill milled and bagged so I’m kind of stuck with it.

    Hop bill help

G’day... All set for a brew day tomorrow utilising hops in the freezer but having trouble making a decision! Hoping for some advice as I have plenty of mosaic, cascade, Sabro, centennial and ekuanot on hand. Was thinking of combining Mosaic, cascade and Sabro. Any thoughts?? 19l / 5 gallon...

    Hi from the UK

I am from Australia. This forum is a great resource and full of great people who share ideas. Generally the only annoyance is converting US measures to metric (a simple app helps) and getting jealous of the ingredients and products used by many here but not readily available in Aus. Welcome to...

Blow off tube came off post pitch

G'Day. Had a great brew day. I went back to my fv after having pitched (about 20 min prior) to find that my blow off tube had somehow released itself from the fv. Essentially, my wort could've been open to the environment (indoors) for upwards of 20 min. Has anyone experienced this, should I...

    Milkshake IPA Recipe Help

Hello all. I'm going to do a Milkshake IPA from BYO (Nov. 2017). It's the Urban Family Brewing Co. Limesicle Clone. I've never done fruit additions etc in my brewing however the recipe calls for a tincture of vanilla bean and lime zest to be made. The recipe calls for the zest of 2 limes and...
