OFFICIAL Kate the Great Russian Imperial Stout Clone

I brewed this back on New Years Eve of 2011. Over 2 years later, it just won 1st place for Wood Aged Beers in a local competition. Great recipe. It really has gotten better and better over time.

White IPA Recipe Formulation-wheat, hops questions

1 oz is a bit much coriander. I used .75 oz in a wit and it was very overpowering. I put .5 oz of lightly toasted coriander in my White IPA and it was perfect. Using Glacier hops are a good choice. The tangerine/orange juice character that I get from them would probably fit really well in a...

British Brown Ale Poke the Bear Southern English Brown

I'd also like to know if the graham crackers were mashed or put in the secondary. I was thinking of making a Southern English Brown with graham crackers so any advice would be appreciated. Great looking recipe. Did you end up entering it into any competitions?

    glacier hops, anyone use them?

I brewed an all Glacier APA a few months back. The taste and aroma were just a big bomb of apricots and orange juice. It was a little muted at first but really shined with some time.

    Portland Maine?

I second Novare Res. Loved that place. Gritty McDuff's is a decent brewpub if you want to visit somewhere smaller than Allagash, Shipyard, etc. I loved Maine Mead Works - the owner is a great guy and you can sample about a dozen or so excellent meads there. Have a good trip.

is 3.3 Cu Ft too small?

My fridge looks really similar to that but it's 4.4 cu. To remove the glued on door, I used a utility knife and a whole lot of force. It easily fits a couple of kegs now so I don't see why the 3.3 wouldn't work for just one. Good luck.

    Conan Yeast Experiences

I brewed the More Brown Than Black clone recipe from BYO with some harvested Conan. It turned out amazing - very fruity.

Who has made a samurai clone

The brewery rep that I originally spoke to said that they were phasing the beer out because making the rice fermentable was too much work. I assumed he was talking about mashing whole rice.

    Kegerator - Frigidaire 4.4 - LFPH44M4LM

I'll have to try that. I've had this fridge for about a year and it's great for lagering my 3 gal batches but I've never been able to fit a full ball lock keg inside.

    Citranella XPA

Agreed. 8% of crystal is a bit much, especially if you don't like the stuff. Munich would be a good sub.

Put something in my SS braid or not?

I wouldn't worry too much about adding something to the braid unless it became a problem for you personally. My braid was fine without any extras for about a year and a half. Then I started getting stuck sparges. I found a really thick, high temp tubing at my lhbs, cut slots into it, and...

+2 = 826 Accidentally dropped one into a pot and then gripped the extra one too hard out of anger.

SWMBO poses this question. Help please!

You might want to check out Biermuncher's post about making one of his beers non-alcoholic. It doesn't seem to have completely wiped out all the booze but he claims it lowered significantly.
