    Chuck Norris Beer Facts

If it looks like an IPA, tastes like an IPA, and smells like an IPA but Chuck Norris says its a Stout, then its a F'ing stout. Chuck Norris crashes his secondary simply with a cold stare. Chuck Norris himself is a wort chiller. Chuck Norris doesn't care about ABV because there is no amount of...

    Whats in the beer?

So I made a sierra nevada clone and has been in the bottle just over 3 weeks. Havent looked at them till yesterday. I picked one up and there was tons of white stuff in suspension in the bottle. I took one and put it in the fridge last night and almost all of it fell to the bottom. Aside from...

    Muntons Carb Tabs

The only reason I am trying the Muntons is because I only have a gallon batch and want to lose as little as possible with transfers and what not. I also dont have a scale that can weigh out small enough amount to carb individual bottles, so I figured I would take the recommended carb tabs and...

    Muntons Carb Tabs

I just bought the Munton tabs to use with a gallon batch I brewed so I can bottle right out of the fermenter. I have seen a lot of posts about white floaters in the bottles, has anyone figure out what is going on with this? Would crushing the tabs into powder form first then throwing them in help?

    harr.. Paint strainer for BIAB

If I'm brewing smaller batches that would only require a couple lbs of grain, is there any reason a strainer bag that is large enough to hold the grain but not large enough to stretch around the pot wouldnt work? Meaning I would have use it more like steeping, I can see it would make stirring...

    Gelatin is no joke!

Has anybody tried gelatin vegetarian substitutes? The only substitute I have found so far is called Kojel and is supposedly a gelatin made from seaweed. I was just wondering how or if this or anything similar would work. The girlfriend is a vegetarian so need to seek alternative fining...

    Gelatin is no joke!

I am going to rack to secondary in a couple days and want to try gelatin. I see some people say cold crash and some not. Also wondering how cold crashing and temperature fluctuation is going to affect the yeast at bottling time Should I leave in secondary for a 1.5 weeks, add gelatin and cold...

    Small Batch Brewing

So I've seen a couple threads about people talking about the smallest batches that they've brewed but haven't heard much about how the stuff actually turns out. Im intrigued about this small brewing cause it would allow for more experimenting at lower cost. So for people that have tried small...

    Fruiting Secondary

I am brewing a blueberry beer now and am wondering about adding fruit to the secondary. I had blueberries in a strainer bag and mixed blueberry purree in the primary but when I went to rack yesterday I didnt notice much blueberry flavor. The guy at my LHBS told me to put the stuff in the...

    Strainer Bag Sanitizing

Thanks for timely replies, I figured it would be OK, just wanted to makes sure cause if the color of the bag has changed I would think something else is in the bag now.

    Strainer Bag Sanitizing

So in my brew I am making a blueberry beer and added blueberries to the primary by putting them in a fine strainer bag. I left the bag in for the 5 days the beer was in the primary and just racked to the secondary. I took out the strainer bag, tossed the spent blueberries and tried to clean the...
