Be weighing grain in 4 pounds batches to hit 16 pounds, get interrupted by the neighbor, think you are at 2 as you dump in the third batch so you weigh up 2 more and end with 20 pounds... ABV was a wee bit high that batch... was tasty but not quite what I wanted! I need to get a scale that can...

    CO2 refills in Redwood Falls

Redwood Fire Extinguisher Service has been refilling my tank. He doesn't have a pump yet so only gets about 3/4 full but it lets me keep my lighter aluminum tank that looks decent sitting outside the fridge. He is not cheap... but that might change if he gets more volume going from beer...

What I did for beer today

Gave my fermenters a shake to wake the yeast up after temps in the pantry dropped to 45 during a power outage during the height of the snowstorm. Got power back and it took 12 hours to get the fermenters back to 64... I had to close the pantry off to conserve heat from the pellet stove... 17...

    Kegerator Build Gone Wrong.

I make my fridge controllers in a utility box(gray plastic in the electrical section with no holes) from the hardware store. I cut a hole for the STC and then cut one for the outlet. Add a hole in the side for the power cord. Makes a neat all purpose controller you can move around. I always have...

    Don't Do That.

Don't forget to pull the tap brush out before pulling a pint... my sister went back to get a beer today and forgot... beer went sideways until the brush popped out into her glass. Onto her dress, the fridge door, the wall, on top of the CO2 tank and regulators...

    Storing Grain

Keep in mind, once malted and bagged this grain sits in a warehouse with little to no temp control until sold. It could be there a year! And milled grain kept dry is good for 6 months +
