    Festa Brew Q

Hey all, I've just finished my second go around with festa brew. for those not familiar with it, it comes in a huge bag already prepared, you just add a yeast slurry and let it sit. that said, the directions say it's ready for bottle after 7 days. my first attempt was terrible, the smell and...

About to start first ever brew...have some questions..

I guess it's ultimately your choice. I wouldn't leave mine loose just incase the cat got curious! If you change your mine, the whole in the bucket is as easy as slapping a cutting bit on your drill and 4 seconds later you have a hole! My last bucket didn't have the whole and the guy at the brew...

About to start first ever brew...have some questions..

i'm also a beginner nate, but i'll tell you what i do. I'm also currently brewing a festa kit, the cerveza one actually. I know that the instructions say you can bottle after something like 8 days, but one thing i've come to learn in to be patient. That said, my cerveza has been in primary for 2...

    Strong Malt taste

i've noticed that the malt taste in the IPA has basically gone away since i kegged it a week ago. I've got a festabrew cerveza on the go right now, apparantly an amazing product

    Strong Malt taste

As far as the IPA goes, both for that matter, I followed the directions on the can directly. it did say to bottle after 5 days, i let it sit in primary for 2 weeks, then secondary for 2 weeks before kegging. Instructions are as simple as they come, warm can in water, dump in sterile bucket...

    Strong Malt taste

I've got two kegs on the go, one I brewed a Coopers IPA the other is a Canadian Red. I'm finding that there's a strong malt taste to both final products. Could that be the result of something I've done wrong, or is that just what I should come to expect from such products?

    ANOTHER keg carb question

I'm looking for advice on how I would go about carbing a keg that's going to be sitting in a cold room. I wont be able to keep it in the fridge, as i've got 2 on the go...so my game plan is to keg it, hook up the extra co2 tank and just set it to 12psi until i need it (roughly 2-3 weeks?) will...

    Hydrometer dropped like a rock

sorry about slow response, lack of internet and successful first brew make response times slower! I did end up taking another reading, and i believe my first reading was off b/c of lack of sample amount in the jar. the second one floated beautifully. i have to admit there is a small off taste...

    Hydrometer dropped like a rock

I'll take another sample tomorrow and see what I get....patience is a virtue that forgot about me, i was hoping to keg after day 7 instead of 10....

    Hydrometer dropped like a rock

I can't recall if it was rock bottom, but it was definately close too the bottom. It is a triple scale

    Hydrometer dropped like a rock

I'm hoping that my lack of knowledge will lead to an obvious answer to this, so here goes! When I started this brew, my first, i didn't have a hydrometer, so didn't have a reading. That said, I followed the directions that came with the kit (bucket for 5 days, then secondary for 7-10)...
