Strange change of color in beer

i bottled first the small ones (300 ml) and went up to the big ones (600 ml). two small ones (supposedly bottled first) were different, one orange, other brown, and a big one was brown...

Strange change of color in beer

I'll watch out, i had some issues with the auto-siphon so i guess it coulde've oxigenated my beer before bottling, it didn't work well, i'll search for a leak soon... But, still, why does some bottles have red-orange color and others have a brown color? strange...

Strange change of color in beer

Hello there, I just brewed my first beer ever, an IPA. i had a previous thread that you helped me a lot regarding stuck fermentation however, now that it is carbonated color changed a lot. First, before bottling, it was somewhat orange (pic without carbonation) then, after bottling...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

Just cracked open my first bottle. It is really strange how the color changed. it was orange before bottling. now, it is brown! I have no idea what the hell happened. do someone have a theory? It is surely too dark for an IPA, and unbalanced. it has 70 IBU and 5.5% ABV. there is a little sweet...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

Sorry that i couldn't report earlier, here's the pic i took that day from the sample at the top of the fermenter it looks less yeasty (less white) but still it's not clear as i thought it should be. May be because of the heavy hopping (220g excluding dry-hopping) with no use of hop bag or...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

thank you for you answer, i'll be bottling with 3 more people helping sanitation and stuff, we'll make a kind of a assembly line... i was willing to use a hose since i dont have the wand, but next time i'll sure have it, and also the auto-siphon for racking to the bottling bucket This...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

I really don't see how mixing priming solution in bucket is better than putting the exact amount of the same solution inside each bottle... dissolve 100g of sugar in 200ml of water (boil), then put 1ml of this solution for each 100ml of bottled beer... meaning a 600ml beer will have 6ml of...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

Hi again Yooper! Well, i was intending to insert priming solution directly at bottles before bottling, using a syringe to insert the right volume of solution for the bottle size, that way i do not need to disturb the trub mixing the priming solution. I would just open the fridge and then...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

Hi Steve, gravity haven't changed for 5 days in a row... guess it stopped on the first week problably by the two causes i explained earlier, 1- started 25C got to 19C in 3 days, 2- didn't activate the yeast correctly, some were left stuck to the glass, seems i underpitched I'm just...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

Thanks again. I've done some research and found out recommendations for those who intend to bottle from primary bucket through a spigot at the bottom. It seems I have to discard the first few glasses of beer until it comes a little bit clearer. Exactly because it is near the yeast cake. above...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

Thank you yooper, you are helping me so much. One last stupid question, I'm taking these samples from the tap at the bottom of my bucket... Should I be taking it from the top? Is it supposed to have impact in my measurements? The tap is near the yeast cake, but a little bit above it. It should...

Do I have a stuck fermentation?

in the terms i described, i basically intended on fermenting for 10 days (last 2 of dry-hopping) and 5 days of maturation at 7 C (also with dry-hops reaching a total of 7 days of dry-hopping) i was aiming at a 7 days fermentation but since i've had these problems i've described in this thread...
