North Country Malt Group to stop selling to homebrewers

Yes, Ed brews a lot of beer. You should see his mash tun! To further beat the, if not dead, certainly the dying horse I would like to applaud Forrest for his accurate and thoughtful responses to the various posts that come across as not understanding the difference in what it takes to price...

Questions on running fuel for a brew rig.

I ran 25 feet of 5/8" red rubber water hose off a 1/2" tee from my water heater supply to my driveway and run 2 hurricane burners simultaneously with no problem. My water heater is in the front of the garage with 1/2" pipe fed from my attic which it comes off a 3/4" pipe there.

I used to wash my hands but I quit years ago.

Bargain Fittings is AWESOME, here is why.

I thought you were going back to a 5 gallon system? Gotta do at least 10 gallons in that monster.

I use these. Pour is 100% and will swell when hot wort is poured in to almost 5.5 gallon if you wish. http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=25633&catid=816

Is a 70 quart cooler too big for a 5 gal brew

Yes, it will work. A lot of folks use that cooler for both, myself included. They hold the mash temps very well. The key is to not open the cooler lid while mashing and not start with a cold cooler. In the winter I bring my cooler inside the house for a couple of days before brewing. I do...

Are you getting fat from HB?

I was fat before I started. Haven't lost, haven't gained. My new years resolution. Lose weight and drink more beer. (laying off the snacks with beer though)

    Bulk grain buying Q's

Canadian 2-row is the cheapest. I as well as most of our buying group buy this and all of them as well as myself keep ordering more. As far as I know none of my group is so impoverished that this is by necessity.:D

Coleman Xtreme - California chemical warning

Cancer is actually a birth defect. A certain percentage of all people that are born get cancer sometime in their life. This is proof positive that being born causes cancer as well as a host of other diseases. Please use birth control and do not put any more children at risk.:(

    Waldo Lake Amber yeast choice?

Wyeast American Ale II 1272 would be the better choice. I believe this is what Denny recommends when his 1450 is not available. However since you have 051 on hand I think it would do just fine. 05 would dry it out too much.
