It's a brand new regulator and the gasket between the tank and reg is new. I'm not sure what other gastkets and o-rings you are refering to. What do you mean by using lube? Sorry but I'm obviously new at this
I've gone through 2 full Co2 tanks on about 4 gallons of beer. After the first tank I switched to a new regulator and thought that would solve the problem. this is not the first time my C02 tank runs out fast.
I need help as to what is could be.
My water has a PH of around 8.8.
I have some Phosphoric acid that I want to add and would like to know what I should bring the water down to.
The local brew shop told me to bring it down to around 5.4.
Any suggestions would be great.

Books I've read state that the sparge temp should be no more than 170 degrees. I know I'm going to lose some degrees after the water goes through the plastic tube and the sparge arm. I'm looking for some advice on how to regulate the temp so it's in the proper range once it reaches the...
Below is info from my water report. I'd like some input as to what if anything I might have to add to my water for all grain brewing.
thanks

Calcium 17
Magnesium 13
Sulfate 35
Sodium 12
Chloride 18
Bicarbonate48
Hardness Total 96
Alkalinity Total 40
PH 8.8
Beersmith has a section to enter info using your local water report. My report gives me total Alkalinity and total hardness but does not give me the bicarbonate level in HCO3. All the other variables like magnesium and calcium are on the report.
I'm trying to understand the report so I can...
Thanks to all for the input. I went ahead and ordered the big banjo. I figure it won't hurt having the extra BTU's when I'm brewing in the garage in the winter when it's 10 degrees outside.
There are many burners on the market. I'll be doing 5 gallon all grain batches.
I'm looking for recommendations on a burner. How many BTU's etc
thanks

Hello, looking for a recommendation on what kind of thermometer to use for my new 10 gal rubbermaid mash tun.
I'll have to drill through the cooler so need to know if this can be done with thermometers on the market. I don't want to destroy the cooler.
thanks
I see you use the round rubbermaid cooler. I just picked up a 10 gallon unit. How do you get the temp of the mash? Did you drill a hole for a "stick through" thermometer?
thanks
