    Newcastle clone, Using Brown Sugar

Hey thanks a lot for the quick response, Is there a reason for putting it in so late in the process?

    Newcastle clone, Using Brown Sugar

Hey guys/gals, We're starting a Newcastle clone tonight and the recipe calls for true brown sugar. We went to the latino grocery market and got a hard cake of sugar (looks like a fat brown frisbee. We were wondering when you are to put it in, beginning of boil? I assume stirring would be...

    Dry Hopping Secondary to Keg

So......I tried to listen to Yooper, and apparently I didn't do it so well. I let the dry hopping go for more than two weeks where I felt I was pretty good and I poured a glass out of the keg and holy crap... floaters everywhere in the pint. Any ideas? I would just suck it up and drink it as...

    Dry Hopping Secondary to Keg

Hey now, This is my first go at dry hopping, after reading through HBT for suggestions on method, I decided to just toss the pellets in the secondary and let it sit for a couple weeks. Well, those 2 weeks are almost up and I'm wondering what method is best to transfer to the keg without...

    Excuse my noob

2nd batch here, first was a Black Butte Porter clone that tastes fantastic, friends are impressed etc etc... Just started our 2nd batch, an IPA, last night, and I'm left thinking about the process. After adding the hops and cooling the wart, getting ready to dump it into the carboy, we are...

    2nd Batch Question

So last question for the night. (I figured out the stopper problem) I took my hydrometer reading and came up with an impossibly low OG of 1.049 for an IPA that the recipe says it should be 1.062. I'm starting to get really worried here... How could it be so crazy low?

    2nd Batch Question

Again, thanks a lot. One more question for tonight.. I just pitched the yeast and put the stopper on it, it doesn't seem to be sitting in there very well at all. Last time it went right in and stayed there, now it just keeps sliding farther and farther out. Is this a problem?

    2nd Batch Question

you guys were so damn helpful the last time with my bull**** questions, I've got one more for you. I'm brewing an IPA and intend to dry hop in 2nd fermentation, the kit I have has my 2oz of Willamette hops vacuum sealed in one package, 1 oz is called for during the wort boil and the second...

    One Step Leaving Powder behind

Thanks, yeah I'm sanitizing it. maybe it just needed more of all of the above, there was just an amazing amount of powder left behind, seemed like so much more than I even dumped in to begin with.

    One Step Leaving Powder behind

I just bought a new bag of One Step and am cleaning/sanitizing my keg, when i dumped out the water there was a massive amount of powder left on the bottom... So much I had to rinse out the keg 3 or 4 times before it came out. Did I use WAY too much? It says 1 tbsp for 1 gallon, it's a 5...

    Golden Ale- possibly infected?

Interesting stuff. I'm about to keg my first batch, I've noticed that all instructions for carbing tell you to get the keg to serving temperature before transferring as temperature makes a big difference in the level of carbonation. What does this mean for my kegging I'll be doing? I have...

Hey now! New to the game, what's the best home brew shop round here? I'm in the Southeast if there's something specific. Thanks a lot, I've had a lot of fun on the site so far!
