Just put 5 gallons of a coffee stout in the fermenter. Liquid and DME. Coffee beans steeped for 20 minutes after boil. Hope it tastes as good as the wort looked.
I am brewing my first IPA and this is my first time using a plastic carboy as a secondary fermenter. The IPA was in the primary for two weeks, the secondary for two weeks before I added 2 ounces of hops pellets.
Just prior to adding, the secondary fermenter was relatively clear. However...
All of the water was gone and beer had pushed out through the top of airlock. This was within 12 hours of my pitching yeast into an IPA.
I used sanitizer to clean up the bucket and around the airlock hole. I also cleaned out the airlock with sanitizer and then quickly put it back in place...
