What strength solution do you mix to pump through the chiller?

I have the 7.9 gallon one and with a small modification to change the collection ball to a mason jar and mounting it to a base with casters I've been happy with it. I ordered the big one and will let you know after I use it.

This is a good price for this unit. Fastferment 14 gallon.

Thanks for your response. I just wanted to share that mash outs work for me.

I shared my results. Throwing shade on other home brewers doesn't make this site a more inviting place to visit.

The malt mashed for 90 minutes prior to mash out and passed an iodine test. We will agree to disagree.

If the plastic valve gives me any problems (none so far) I'll replace it with an SS butterfly valve like the one I used on my 15 gallon inductor tank.

It makes transfer and collection much easier using the TC connection. You can see fermentation activity in the jar. Also, the collection ball was more difficult to clean.

I put this together a couple of months ago and have used it several times. It works well and doesn't leak. I replaced the original collection ball with a 1" MPT to 1.5" TC adapter. The adapter for the jar is a 1.5" to 2" concentric TC adapter. The jar ring is a base collar for a Hamilton...
