    Cider Question

Thanks for the tips, especially since you're obviously experienced with this! I'm not too worried about diluting the cider too much, since currently it is at about 9.5% abv. I'm hoping to get it down a little, so it doesn't completely knock me on my ass...lol. I'll probably end up diluting a...

    Cider Question

I was planning on back sweetening with the cider I just purchased. Should I not use that and use the frozen concentrate?

    Cider Question

Hey all, it's been a while since my last post. Started brewing close to a year ago. Still do mostly extract and have done a couple partial mashes. I also started kegging several months back. Bottling was too much of a PITA, so I built a keezer with 4 taps. Recently I have been doing some...

What is this on my freezer?

Actually the cooler floor is right above the vent. The hole was probably for a cord or something for an earlier model that they didn't change, so they covered it up with a white sticker. I'm just going to paint over it! lol

What is this on my freezer?

So I just bought a GE 7.0 cu ft chest freezer recently, and will be turning it into a keezer. Tonight I was taping it up, with plans to paint it black over the weekend. As I was removing some of the stickers I saw this right above the vents. It was covered with a round white sticker, which I...

    First timer kegging

Thanks or the tip. I'll give it a shot and see how it turns out.

    First timer kegging

Thanks, I think? lol I'll take your 'so called' advice and stick with the one keg for a little while...lol.

    First timer kegging

I also spent sometime last night researching better lines to get so I won't have two ounces of skunky beer to get rid of. I stumbled on that original post about accuflex Bev seal beverage lines, and ordered 50' for 16 bucks from farmhouse supply. Pretty cheap, however this new hobby of mine is...

    First timer kegging

So I've done 3 batches and I wanted to switch it up a bit, so I decided to get a small keg to put in my regular fridge. I bought a kit from Northern Brewer with the three gallon keg, a regulator, and the gas and beer lines, then I got a CO2 tank on Amazon for 60 bucks. I spent this last...

    Bottling Help...

Exactly. Though my first bottling experience was not very fun to me. I got it all done, but I made a couple spills and I was mostly unorganized. I was using a bucket to hold 6 beers while I poured, then took them out to cap them. I really was not having any fun, so I figured I needed to do...

    Bottling Help...

I made such a mess bottling my first batch, that I decided I needed a little help. Since my dog wasn't up for the job, I built this. It holds 12 bottles. I can easily fill all 12, then cap each one without having to move the bottle and potentially spill anything. It made my second batch 10...

Great results to my first stout!

Thank you! Northern brewer has a calculator as well. I just wanted to see what other brewer's personal experiences have been with bottling stouts.

Great results to my first stout!

So I've brewed 3 5-gallon batches so far. First was a brown ale, which turned out well, except the final gravity was pretty high at 1.020. Second was a pale ale, which the original gravity was a little low at 1.044 (was supposed to be 1.052). The pale ale is still bottle conditioning, but I...

    Any Advice for compact kegging?

I'm in the same boat. Don't have space for a kegerator, but want to start kegging. I also don't want to stop bottling completely. So I just bought a 3 gallon keg & regulator from Northern Brewer, and a 5 pound CO2 tank on Amazon. After I rearrange the shelves in my fridge, the keg and tank...
