    Brewed yesterday

After a long hiatus due to my stupidity https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/bad-batch.644929/ , I brewed some Black IPA. I made some changes (drink before, during, after) and eased up on the OCD sanitation process. I forgot how fun it was to brew. I'm hoping this batch and my double IPA...

    Bad batch

I'm using 1 gallon glass carboy. Yeast - thanks! By dangerous, my take on it was a flat orange juice with a strong chemical taste. I'll try another one tonight and provide better information. Thanks!!

    Bad batch

Well my IPA turned out to be what my wife called, "Dangerous". I must have contaminated it somehow and I have no idea where in the process I did it. I'm very obsessed with sanitation to the point I'll spray everything even after a soak and then spray my hands several times during the process...

    Hydrometer questions

Thanks for the help. I feel dumb trying to incorporate all of this into the process. I'm only doing one gallon batches so maybe the gravity readings aren't really needed but it would be nice to take a sample and taste it as suggested. Thanks again for the insights.

    Hydrometer questions

Forgive the noob questions but I'm trying to understand the "when" of using these. The how as I understand it: First reading 1. Take a sample from the boiling pot just after cool down and before pitching yeast. 2. Throw away the sample Last reading: 1. Take a sample from primary fermenter or...

    Beginner Rig

Would you recommend this for someone only wanting to do 1 gallon batches? It seems this would be fine for future scalibility to 5 gallon too.

I finally brewed and some things I learned..

Thank you for the tip!!! It makes perfect sense. Thank you for the tip. I'm willing to spend a little extra in order to save time and be consistent until I learn some more. The fewer variables the better for me :)

I finally brewed and some things I learned..

After 3+ years of the 1 gallon brew kit sitting in the garage, I finally broke it open and brewed 3 times. I hope you don't mind me sharing my experiences. First up was the Everyday IPA but I tossed the ingredients since it was so old. Instead, I went to the local Home Brew Store and they...

    Mountain Bike suggestions

I've decided to upgrade from my 2002 26" Trek 4300 hardtail. I've already ridden 5 bikes and I have my winner but I wanted to get advice for brands I haven't looked at yet in case there's something that might be better. Budget - no more than 1k Riding Style - fitness based (speed) with...

    The "Dear" , "Sincerely" thread

Dear Joggers/runners/bike strollers, Get the **** out of my bike lane. Since you can see traffic, don't think I'm moving into traffic to pass you. Why can't you use the sidewalk two feet to your left like everyone else? Sincerely, Frustrated bike rider.
