    single serve nitro infuser

Thanks for the tip! The gas blenders can be had inexpensively on the used market, if you have the patience. Are you familar with the [Ales & Largers] output? It appears that this is used when there is a long distance beer line to serve ales & lagers and not for infusing with nitrogen.

Need help diagnosing lower than expected efficiency

It dawned on me that the reason my mill never spins backwards is because I always pre-load it by manually turning the shaft and the third roller to allow the grain to engage all three rollers so that when I apply power I don't get a free-wheeling roller. Maybe you can try the same for your...

Need help diagnosing lower than expected efficiency

I took measurements on my non-geared 3 roller mill and verified what you stated. My mill has smoked acrylic panels on the side so I can see which direction the third roller is spinning and it never has spun backwards. Regarding the non-geared 3 roller mills getting "stuck", I have found that...

    single serve nitro infuser

It's been a few months but I'm finally pouring stouts on nitro/CO2 using my gas blender that I picked up used. I also have cold brew coffee on nitro using a UKEG Nitro pressurized growler.

    Brewing room ideas

A Dolby Atmos system would pair nice with a TV. I'm not sold on a on demand water heater as they required yearly maintenance (backflushing) and cannot be used with an RO system as well as the cost. I am also not certain on how "clean" the water is for mashing as I certainly wouldnt use a...

    CO2 cylinders

Agreed, in my case I use Airgas and with their sticker they never look at the experation date.

    CO2 cylinders

I have a 5# tank when I am serving beer away from my house and (2) 20# tanks one for my keezer and another one I use near my fermentor for cold pressure transfers, also doubles as a back-up when my keezer 20# tank goes empty. It is much easier to get a used CO2 tank exchanged if it has a...

Jones'ing for a stainless fermenter - maybe Delta

When I make purchases, even small ones, I look at the overall costs (including shipping) along with the stability of the company. By my criteria the Delta Fermtank Pro looks like the top contender.

Black sooty smoke from jet gas burner

According to my plumber son, the gas line also has to be sized (diameter of the pipe) for the BTU's of the device(s) that it is feeding. When he extended the gas line in my house for my NG burner, he extended the main trunk line close to the shut-off valve and reduced it down from there.

Black sooty smoke from jet gas burner

Natural gas is already at a lower pressure (than Propane) and does not require a regulator. I have my Edlemetal burner converted to NG which I swapped out the orfice and had to readjust the air damper to get a nice blue flame.

Jones'ing for a stainless fermenter - maybe Delta

I'm fortunate to have a larger single bowl sink (as opposed to a double bowl sink) in my basement which my CF10 fits into. For cleaning I set the conical inside the sink, remove the top lid, open the bottom valve and rinse out (with my pull out faucet) followed by removing all the valves and...

And it was done with a typewriter, very high tech back then!

Jones'ing for a stainless fermenter - maybe Delta

I went with a conical (besides the bling factor) for the other benifits: cold pressure transfers, harvest yeast and "ease" of clean-up with stainless steel vs. plastic. I also brew in my basement, mainly because I store my brew equipment in there. I purchased a used upright freezer ($200)...

Jones'ing for a stainless fermenter - maybe Delta

I still have my Spidel 30l and 60l fermenters but they have been replaced with my Spike CF-10. I know what you mean about the last batch still lingering but stored with the lid off, it will eventually go away even though it does not affect the next batch of beer. Delta is about 30 minutes from...

    First keezer build

I used this: Link and This and wrapped the chain around the handle of the tank, pull the slack out of the chain and fasten it to the quick link. I secured the rope loop to the collar with some beefy wood screws. If you expand my first photo above you can get a visual on how I did it.
