Well, I brewed a Brewer's Best English Brown Ale. It called for an OG of 1.040 - 1.048. I hit 1.048 when I topped off the water to the 5 gal mark. Close enough for government work. Thing to improve on: Overshot the steeping temp for grain by 5 deg. Logistics, Logistics, Logistics...

I just ordered my beginner kit yesterday and I intentionally ordered one from Northern Brewer that had an auto siphon. It just seemed like a lifesaver and it only cost me $7 more with shipping than from the LHBS.

They have more than a chance. If they lose, they should be embarrassed. I'm a Colt's fan and I don't care what happens tonight. I am going to start work on my Tom Brady pinata tomorrow.

I actually picked one up for $27 at Target before Christmas. It beats the hell out of the stove. I did a test boil to get some oxidation in the pot and it brought 5 gal of water to a rolling boil in 13 min.
