If you're after a brewpub experience a couple good bets are Highlands Hollow's "Hippie Shake" or Sockeye's "Dagger Falls". Both places have a decent menu as well. 10 Barrel downtown is good too, but they are interlopers from that OTHER state (Oregon).
Just brewed this today. My only variation is using Maris Otter for the base malt, because that's what I had. Hope it's not to "Maris Ottery" if that's even possible.
Has anybody connected their fermentation lock to their fish tank? I grow plants in my aquarium and would like to introduce CO2 to promote growth. Pressurized CO2 systems cost money, and primary fermentors make CO2. Just thinking out loud here...
Tugboat is probably one of the funkiest little breweries in PDX. Walked in, stumbled out. House Russian Imperial Stout called "Chernobyl". Not the best I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. Did the trick.
