    Quickest brew.

I think this should be taken to its own thread, no reason to blow up TheBeerKid 's inbox. Not to step on any moderator's toes. Anywho, go with a Hefeweisen, it's a crowd pleaser and it's easy and quick and cheap. Go for the gold.

    Quickest brew.

Nothing wrong with Mr. Beer! It is a great way for people to become familiar with the brew process. Also it's cost permissive for most, so you aren't feeding too much money into brewing before you 're even sure you like it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it, that being said I'm totally...

    convertible sugar in watermelon juice?

I would really recommend doing secondary if you haven't already added it at flameout. In my experience it doesn't make the flavor less prominent, it completely ruins the watermelon flavor. I tried to make some watermelon wine a while back and it was hella trife because I used warm water to...

    convertible sugar in watermelon juice?

I would add it in secondary, watermelon just isn't the same when it is warmed up :(

    Quickest brew.

Search it on google homie, it's a kit. A lot of Hefeweisens take relatively little time to make. There's also a recipe on the site for a panic button extract Hefeweisen that is apparently pretty good and really quick.

    convertible sugar in watermelon juice?

Most, if not all the sugars in a watermelon are simple sugars that will be completely digested. That's how most fruit works.

    Bitter!

About 6 hours now hahaha. I'll keep you guys updated and give the thread a bump in a couple of weeks. It was hoppy bitter, I'm not sure though whether it was all hop and some fruit or all fruit and some hop. I'm sure I'll enjoy it more when the beer is carbonated and not 70 degrees. Just let me...

    Bitter!

There was also a large amount of trub, like an inch and a half along the bottom, not sure if that's a problem.

    Bitter!

Just finished my first American wheat and bottled it. After tasting it, it came out much more bitter than anticipated. I added the zest of four blood oranges and the fruit of two, I'm afraid I included too much of the white portion of the orange. Is it possible that the bitterness will dissipate...

    Is Fermentation complete?

My Northern Brewer kit has been fermenting for two weeks now and I'm not sure if fermentation is complete yet. I modified the recipe by adding blood orange fruit and zest which I'm sure lengthened the fermentation process, but how can I tell when it is finished? In the past what I have done is...

Will it be safe to drink?

Oh god please don't pour it down the drain! If you're concerned with germs, the boil took care of that, if you're concerned with chemicals in the leather they were also probably boiled off and would be in such a minute quantity that it doesn't matter. Before you toss it, give it a taste.

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Yeah, that was my main concern. Won't all the deformation of the lining eventually lead to cracking?

Using Block ice to chill wort

Are you stirring both the ice and the wort? Most important is to stir the ice, it ensures that there isn't a pocket of warm water between the brew pot and the cold water. Also, depending on the type of container you are holding the ice in, there could be a large amount of heat leeching in which...
