    toning down hops

i meant when I buy a growler of their pale ale what can I put in it to make it more drinkable...yea I could buy their tasteless golden ales but they suck worse. my own homebrew has less hops and is better than any craft brew I have tried at least in my state. And I am unskilled in anybodys...

    toning down hops

every craft brewer in my state makes a pale ale. And every single one is under bodied and over hopped. I tried mixing in a tiny bit of honey to some the other day and it seems to make it more palatable. Anyone else have tricks for upping the body and toning down the hops in a brew??

    looking for this beer

Anyone know where in Salt Lake City I can find Ska Brewing True Blaond Ale. Its 5% so it has to be in one of the state stores but I need to know which one has it. Many state stores have a poor selection of craft beers. I know at least one has it because I checked with Ska.

    other style wort chiller

I was wondering if I could find a copper wort chiller that instead of being a coil was a couple of hollow copper plate boxes, maybe curved, that I could pump ice water thru. It seems it would be easier to clean. I was surprised I didnt see anything like that on the web.

    saving leftover dry yeast

Safael says in their documentation that you can only keep an open pack of US05 for a week in the fridge. Is this true?? What do you do with your extra. Its a waste to throw it away for people who only do 1 gallon batches and dont use much.

    sugar prime in keg

does anyone else prime in the keg???? I do and also purge the keg with co2 2-3 times to get some of the air out. I use corn sugar for natural carbonation because despite what the Gas Companies say about their co2 , there is no way to know if their gas is low in Benzene and other bad stuff. I...

    probe temp

I have a Pyrex kitchen temp and timer with a probe. I tape it to a 1 gallon glass jug...the glass is not too thick on these small ones. I was getting 70 F at the very beginning of ferment. Was the wort at 75 or 80 inside?? I got the temp down fairly quickly to 68 on the probe and then down to...

    post boil

I would rather have a recipe calculator that was less cumbersome than BeerSmith. It is like a lot of programs overdone.

    post boil

What do you think of increasing the boil time just to get to your target volume???? Beersmith gave me a wrong number and I have had an extra 1/4 gallon after 60 min. Its true that the cooling reduces the volume some and the trub takes up room too so you need some extra but do you think its a...
