    Chinook Pale Ale Advice

I just got done drinking an all chinook pale that I made. It was really good. I didn't do any hop additions until 35 min left in boil though to avoid that harshness you can sometimes get from chinook.

How many gallons of homebrew in 2010?

Just found this thread. I guess I'll chip in my 2 cents. According to Pro Mash I'm up to 120 gallons already! Almost every batch has been a different style (10 gallon batches). That brings us up to 14,817 gallons

    Chinook pellets

I've got about 4 lbs of chinook pellets that I would like to either sell or trade for some hops. I ordered 5 lbs. from hops direct a couple months ago, turns out they sent me closer to 6 lbs. and I'm realizing that I just have way too much. They have been vaccuum sealed and in the freezer since...

    unintended acceleration question

Don't know if it's been mentioned here or not......but that guy in the prius admitted he was lying. As if it wasn't plainly obvious, that is if you know anything about the prius. This moron is going into bankruptcy and was just trying to make a quick buck. I guarantee that this isn't the first...

    Pain pills + beer???

I have found that the beer can be a nice supplement to the pain meds if they aren't quite taking care of all the pain. Enjoy :)

    unintended acceleration question

So everybody knows, the guy in the prius here recently is completely full of crap. He said that he tried to pull the gas pedal back with his hand, but he couldn't let go of the wheel...or his phone to shut the car off????? Sounds more than a little fishy. I can't imagine puting my head under the...

    Magically clear beer?

nothing escapes gravity......not even the stuff that's is making your beer hazy. If you let it sit long enough undisturbed, it will eventually clear up.

    Reuse yeast from the secondary?

I always harvest the yeast from the primary and discard the yeast from the secondary. This is mostly because I only use a secondary if I am dry hopping. That said, I still think you want to use the yeast from the primary. The yeast that is left when your beer gets to the secondary is less...

    Aging versus Quickly maturing Beers

A couple of weeks in the fermenter is probably fine for most beers. Aside from the yeast eating all the sugar, there are also some bi-products produced by the yeast that the little beasts will clean up given enough time. I wouldn't go much less than two weeks in fermenter though. Some "bigger"...

    Mounted and motorized Barley Crusher

Pretty cool, good job! I want to do something similar to my barley crusher. Where did you get the fly wheel for the mill?

Idea to increase the efficiency of my chiller...

don't really know how well it would work but they have little submersible pumps at harbor freight for like 13 bucks. if you try the solution i suggested thats about the only thing you would need in addition to what you already have. that seems like a pretty cheap solution to me. anyone else...

Idea to increase the efficiency of my chiller...

buy a cheap submersible pump, put it in your ice water, recirculate that through the chiller, add ice as needed.
