I made a wheat beer from a kit and I want to make it a cherry wheat. I have used that artificial extract flavoring in the past with no luck. It did not have any cherry taste to it all. I want to use real cherries this time so first when do I add them? I do a 2 stage fermentation. Also I read...
I making a wheat beer from a brewers best kit and I thought about adding cherry flavoring to it. My question is when to add it. Also would something better work instead of the flavoring such as real cherries?
Thanks
Hello all
I have been using those kits to brew beer and have a question about the yeast that comes in it. When it came time to pitch the yeast I read the instructions on yeast package that said to rehydrate it. After I put the yeast into warm water to rehydrate it I read on the kit...
I'm still a novice and have been making beer from the kits. I was wondering what the difference is between the dry malt extract and liquid? The kits I buy will use both. Does one make the acohol % higher then the other and does it change the taste if they are interchanged? Just curious as I want...
Thanks for all the replies. I will let let my next batch sit in the primary longer. The FG according to the instructions was in the range its suppose to be but I did notice there wasn't any bubbling going on in the air lock like the others I made. Does opening up primary while the yeast is still...
Hello
I've been using those ready made kits to make beer and it recommends to move the beer from the 5 gallon bucket to a glass carboy after 5-7 days. I noticed on my last batched when I took the lid off the bucket after 7 days that the beer was still bubbling a bit. I'm guessing that this is...
I use those kits to make my beer and I wanted to experiment with it to try and raise the alcohol content by adding more LME. 1) will it raise the alcohol % by adding that and 2) what will it effect the most, the original or final gravity?
Thanks
Thanks for advice. I may try adding some extract just for fun but will look into those kits on line. I use brewers best now but I really don't like the ones with higher ABV. Enjoyed the barbs also...
Thanks again
The brew kits I like to use all seem to have a low alcohol level, 4-5% and I was thinking of trying to raise that level. I went to the FAQ section and see that there is quite a diverse opinion on this. I saw where adding malt extract would help. Would I add liquid or dried extract and would this...
Hello
I'm fairly new at making beer and currently making my first lager. I've got the 2nd stage in the carboy jug and the directions say to keep the temp between 35-44 degrees. I do not have a way to keep the temp constant so being from a colder state I am keeping it in my garage. For the...
