Thank you for the tips, can anyone recommend a low AA% pellet hop? Also if I do a 60 min boil, and I add the first oz. of hop pellets at say 30min and the other oz. at 5 min, this will help?
I am fairly new to homebrewing. About 30 gals brewed so far. Can anyone give me a lesson in hops? Acid levels? etc....
The last few batches have had a wicked after bite. Strong hop flavor. I am not a hop head and would like a smoother finish.
I realize this is a very vast question that I...
I fill my empty keg with a very low solution of bleach water. Probable only a tablespoon of bleach to about 4 gallons of water. I seal the keg, shake it and put it up side down for a bit. Then I put a few pounds of co2 on it and run the bleach water out of the keg through the tap. Cleans my...

Well I am about 4 hours in and am having a hard time typing. I am loving this! What I would love is a great, light, summer brew. I am looing for a alochol level in the 5.5 to 7% range. Any suggestions?
So I am at work today counting the minutes til I can get home to try my first brew ever, Autumn Amber Ale. Walked in the door and ran to the basement. Have the beer kegged and hit it for the last two days with 30psi CO2. Released the pressure and reset the pressure for 5psi. Grabbed a glass and...
New to the brewing scene. Just want to know what determines the brew's alcohol level. Not looking to go overboard, but would like to be in the 5-7% range. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Fermenter: Gold??
Two questions here.
First, can someone tell me what secondary fermentation is and why it is done?
Second, if I plan to ferment my wort and then put it in a 5 gal cylinder and attach the co2, do I still need to pitch the sugar. It is my understanding the sugar will help with co2, but If I...
