I got mine (EasyDens) last year and used it a couple times. It's pretty dang cool, but not a definite necessity. I got mine from a guy locally and it was too good of a deal to pass up. Beats using the refractometer and dealing with that mess. I didn't use the recorded sample history yet, but...
I just got this the other day from my local Costco too! Ruthless Rye was my favorite from the start when they released it how ever many years ago. I wish it was available year round!!
The package will stay in the bay area and relatively cool.. you'll be fine like @ntempleton said. I have always had issues with packages being sent to the Tracy FedEx warehouse and sitting for days and ruining my yeasts just to be driven another 45 minutes to Lodi.
I didn't know they had Rasputin at 70ibu in the kettle. Maybe it's just been a long time that I've had it, but I don't remember it being that high. Love it though, that's always a tasty brew to have.
Man, I want your buddy's deck! The process looks good and very straight forward. I liked that all the steps were shown and a good explanation of what the purpose is. I just sent this to a buddy that has been wanting to try brewing. He learned more from this than I could explain it. :p
All good points, I agree with every one of them!
Location plays a big role. I'd think how big Austin is that you'd get some nibbles on the gear. Have you posted on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist? FB has been the big buy/sell hub I've come to find out last year.
Definitely a niche hobby and...
I managed to find a cf10 locally, but its the bare bones tank. I'd be interested in the chill coil and jacket and whatnots if you're willing to let those go? I do already have a chiller as well. @postalbunny
I like to buy from www.williamsbrewing.com for Evabarrier and duotight fittings. Always have had good interactions with them and prices are comparable or lower than MoreBeer. They do run sales periodically on this stuff so keep an eye out.
Everyone that asks me about brewing beer and what it takes has gotten overwhelmed and turned off of the idea after explaining the process. I enjoy the labor of it for sure, and having the ability to create something so different that no one does around me, besides breweries of course. It's a...
That's very true.. I may complain and throw my own little mental tantrum, but get over it quick enough by cracking open a pint can or pouring a mug from a faucet.
I had gone to a brew north of me two years ago and they had a big sale on grains. I ended up bringing a bag of 2row and about 20lbs each of some crystals and others I thought I could use with a lot of types. I had also bought a recipe kit of a pretty basic IPA they made. I've since made that kit...
