Just tried my half bottle and I got that hiss when I opened it. Still needs time for carbonation. It's a 53 IBU AIPA .. It goes down smooth but then the bitter hops catch you at the end like a roundhouse lol
Still needs more time but not bad for my first home brew and my own recipe.

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I bottled my IPA last week after 2 weeks in primary. My FG was stable for about 5 days at 1.012. (OG was 1.062) . I filled up 44 bottles and unfortunately the last bottle was only filled up half way. So I decided to cap it like the rest.
I'm getting...
Ok thanks for the reply. I'm going to do it like that.
Yes that's the current picture but that Krausen is stuck to the top of the fermenter I don't think it's going to fall back down. I had it in my primary for two weeks and it's pretty much at my FG.
I am going to start bottling today. I know how much corn sugar I need (4oz in 5 gallon batch). I'm wondering how much water should I use to dissolve the corn sugar in?
Also kinda worried about moving my primary as it's going to shake like crazy and the trub and krausen stuck to the sides might...
Thanks all.
Doing some research I think I might have under pitched my yeast. I used wyeast 1056 one package. It was fresh basically a few weeks from packaging. I didn't create a starter. I broke the inner nutrients and the bag expanded so much I thought it was going to explode on its own ...
You are probably right. I bought a kit which came with the primary bucket and bottling bucket but I read plastic breaks down over time and carboys are better. Not knowing I thought a 5 gallon Carboy would work so i bought that but I was wrong so the need for a blow off tube was needed so I used...
Just need some reassurance that this looks normal. I have a lot of krausen or what I think is krausen stuck on the top of my fermenter. I can't see inside its so thick. I'm just hoping its normal. This is my first batch.
Wow m00ps those are some bad add recipes. Way more complex than mine. I've got a lot to learn. I've just recently learned about Irish moss which would be my next additive. I will check those recipes out to get ideas for mine. Ever think about selling your beer?
Thanks cernst. You are probably...
Ok thanks. Appreciate that. Yea it is darker than I expected. I think my inexperience got me there. I didn't really know how dark 15 SRM was. I added 2oz of chocolate organic specialty grain for color and I think it really wasn't needed. Also I took the picture in the dark so that could be why...
Hi all just want to introduce myself here. My name is Pasquale and I've just started home brewing. I have been reading everything about brewing for a good 3 weeks. This weekend I just did my own home brew. I had a kit with recipe but I decided to use beer smith and make my own recipe. I went...
