I'm nowhere near you, but welcome to the forum! You will find there are plenty of great webstores that will do flat rate shipping for you, which is often cheaper than gas. I live 45 minutes from my LHBS so I use online shops often. Take some time and look at the vendors page, I have personally...
I am looking to do a keezer project myself and there is a 9 cu ft kenmore on craigslist in town. I'm sure bigger is better but any thoughts on whether this would be big enough for 4-6 cornies and an occasional carboy?
Hey welcome to HBT! There are quite a few AZ folks on here and we even have a group!
Florence? I will be there May 1 for the Warrior Dash... I'm only running it because SWMBO told me they have free beer there. I'm sure it's going to be BMC crap but free beer is good beer in my book...
Has anyone out there successfully added a Blichmann Hopblocker to their Penrose Kettle? I think I might try it but always like seeing other people's setups first.
Converting AG to extract and back is fairly simple and there are plenty of threads giving you the ratios you will need. As for software I really like hopville.com for an online solution, but I have been a beer alchemy user for a while and really like it as a full featured solution.

So out of curiosity, how do you measure the fermentation temp in a sanke fermenter? Do you just assume it is the same temp the fridge is set at or is a thermowel/thermometer setup needed? Would a sticker thermometer like I use on my carboy work?
A second vote for the Alchemist. Yeah you will drive a little to get there but it is well worth the effort. Plus you can stop at the Ben & Jerry's farm for ice cream afterward.
Was about to post on this same topic!
My winter ale (1.081 OG) has been fermenting at 65 for 2 weeks. I really want to get another batch going but my primary is a little busy.
I haven't decided on one, but have a few candidates:
- Creed Ale House & Brewing Co. (my last name and somehow I found a clock that says this on Amazon.com)
- Vail Brewing Co. (Town where I live)
- Copper Mesa Brewing Co. (my street)
- Inglaterra Brewing Co. (Spanish for "England" because...
