Is this small glycol chiller sufficient?

Also, would lager temps in a 100 degree garage be a no go? If so, I'll probably just stick with fridges.

Is this small glycol chiller sufficient?

Not sure what they go for new, but my work is moving and getting rid of unused equipment, so I can get a couple for free or a small financial gesture if I ask I believe. Wouldn't want to work all that out, get them home, and buy the necessary fermentation equipment only to find out it's not...

Is this small glycol chiller sufficient?

All, Would these small chillers work for temp control on a 14 gallon fermenter with an internal cooling coil? I'm not familiar with the thermodynamics of this sort of thing, so I can't tell based on the specs. The reservoir is only 1.4 gallons, which my intuition tells me might be too...

    Welding Keg in Southern California

Hi all, Any welding shop recommendations in the LA or OC area? I'm looking to have a 4" ferrule welded to a sanke for a fermenter project. I've called around looking for a shop that does small sanitary weld jobs, but no luck. Brewer's Hardware can do it but only on unbranded kegs. Thanks

    Controller Plans, looking for feedback

I get it. Thanks for that, it makes sense now. Edit: Oops. Switched to my laptop and I guess it signed me in under an old username. -DNelson

    Controller Plans, looking for feedback

I believe BeardedBrews was correct. At the time the drawing showed the lights being powered by the black wire which is being controlled by the SSR. So with the black and the neutral the light would have indicated when the SSR was sending power to the element. After he pointed that out though...

    pH Meter Calibration

Ok, great. I bought the premixed buffer solutions and so will only need to use the distilled water for rinsing and storage (I have the pocket pro +). Thanks.

    pH Meter Calibration

Seems that DI water is hard to find. I'm only seeing it at chemical supply stores. Is distilled water not pure enough?

    Camco 5500W through a 1" hole?

Building an electric HLT with the Camco element. It's 1" and uses 1" washers and locknuts but the instruction on the Electric Brewery say to make a 1-1/4" hole in your kettle. I plan on putting a few 1" holes in the HLT and other kettles so I'm wondering if I could buy just the 1" knockout...

    planting hops in fall?

I've read (Love of Hops) that after harvest you are supposed to cut the bines down to only a few inches and cover with soil. If planting crowns and "field ready" plants (from Great Lakes) in fall, should we cover the stocks the same way?

    Hop Rocket recirculation

Would pushing the StarSan out of the system with gas be a bad idea?

    Hop Rocket recirculation

Ok so I think Im going to go with the starsan option. Makes the most sense to me. I can then drain the starsan into the carboy to sanitize that. Thanks Still interested in hearing whats working for other people.

    Hop Rocket recirculation

Hi there, Putting together a new setup: Kettle > Pump > Hop Rocket > Therminator > Carboy All these tool are new to me, past batches have just been dumped from kettle into carboy via a strainer and funnel after using an immersion chiller. It seems that most people will recirculate for...
