I always strived for that ridiculous bright golden yellow haze, similar to that of wit beers. then i realised that these bigger ipa's are actually filtered photos (i.e. additional light to make it look super bright). lol
Version 4.0 of my Kveik Hazyt w/ Opshaug this weekend.
Someone challenged me to use 2 hops I've had in my stock fro awhile - sabro and sorachi ace, in the same beer (given their uniqueness). so here i am using some of them. LOL
As per version 3 not alot changes, but im using different boil...
anyone done this one??
I've been reading that verdant have Simcoe in their hopping as well?! My thoughts are to do this:
3g Simcoe (12% AA) @ First Wort Hops
Yeast-Vit @ 15minutes (not included)
80degree 30 min whirlpool/hopstand = 30g Galaxy & 30g citra & 60g simcoe
UPDATE TIME: A little late to the party but none the less here's my take.
Version 3.0 - Bitterness is almost perfect for what I like, the columbus has a nice resiny dankness which sits in the background.
Hop character is tropical and fruity, and the Opshaug lends a nice clean beer, I under...
Version 3 of my kveik hazy went in last night.
i wanted to use kveik Stranda from Whitelabs, but LHBS didn't have it.
so went Opshaug again.
fermentation at 28.5 deg C
Been playing with boil hops with these.
V1 - all whirlpool hops
whirlpool - 100g of centennial, 50g mandarina 20g chinook...
It's definitely an interesting one. we all know that independent breweries will tweak and make minor changes to their recipes over time and batch by batch, sometimes because of harvest quality, AA's etc.
I guess the question is, are Stone too big to play with their recipes batch by batch?
