I have the powder form of this sanitizing agent and it says on the container that it can be reused. I stored it and went to reuse it but found that when i uncovered it a very STRONG nose piercing chemical type smell emerged. I tried using it but couldn't help but notice that the strong smell...
it called for 5 - 7lb of extract for 5 gallons. it was a starters recipe. It also said to find a pellet hop with an "interesting" name and i went with tettnanger. The ale yeast was also recommended.
Edit - i used 2.5 lbs of extract for a 2.5 gallon batch.
Used the most basic recipe from BYO calling for DME and one kind of pellet hops. I made a 2.5 gallon batch using 2lbs pilsen extra dry malt extract and 2oz of tettnanger hops. used 1oz of hops for 60 min boil and 1oz at 5min left for flavor and aroam. Any idea on how this would taste?

I've got mine fermenting at 62. It's in the coolest and darkest place. I can't get the temp lower unless i turn the AC on. What temp. did you brew yours to get it to a Alesner?
I hope it turns out well. How low (temp) or high, should i ferment this brew in order to get the best flavour? I was hoping to be able to let it sit (ferment) in the fridge for a few weeks before bottling. But not sure if this will affect the yeast considering i did not use a lager type yeast.
I used a S-04 ale yeast for a very basic/simple recipe. It only consists of Pilsen light dry malt extract and Tettnanger hops. I used the ale yeast but was wondering if i can turn this in to a lager type/style brew by fermenting in lower temps. Any ideas?
