    Spring 2024 Corny Keg Giveaway

Last brew I made was an Ordinary Bitter!

What is your home brewery's name?

Cana Brewing Company. Named after the place were Jesus turned water into wine lol

how many Corny kegs will a 5lb tank do?

Do you use duotight connectors? Once I had a leak because I overtightened a duotight, and a very very small crack developed on the connector, one I couldn't even see doing the spray test. Once I replaced it, it seemed to improve.

    Greetings from Cincinnati

Hello from Columbus! Welcome to the forum! As you build toward AG, look into the Brew in a Bag Method, one of the lowest barrier entries to AG, and the one I use exclusively. Let me know if you have questions, and the BIAB forum here is an incredible resource too.

    Air in beer line?

I had a similar issue with my Komos kegerator. Definitely want to increase line length, but I also found that making sure my line was coiled together and set on top of the keg made a huge difference. If it sits below the keg at all, it often leads to air pockets.

Mishaps you are embarrassed to admit...but can here, we're all friends.

The amount of times that I've tried to hook up new kegs to my kegerator and forgotten to turn off the CO2, depressurize the kegs, or not had the beer and gas line both connected when I turned on the gas is just embarrassing. So much good beer on my brew room floor, and consequently, all over me.

    Wyeast1056 Fermented Warm?

Kind of what I thought, we will just chalk this one up to an experiment lol Luckily, I brewed most of this using hops and grain I needed to get rid of anyway

    Wyeast1056 Fermented Warm?

Brewed a beautiful IPA using @Yooper house pale ale recipe, with Wyeast 1056 but had to quickly place it in the fermentation chamber because we had to leave. Left it alone for about 15 hours, and checked on it this morning. It was fermenting really well, already had a nice thick Krausen, but I...

This is incredible! Where did you get the metal pegboard? That would look sharp behind my brewing set up!

Bazooka Filter and Brew in a Bag

Not a BIAB thing. Basically, as I drain wort into the fermenter using my ball valve and tubing, when the kettle gets down to about 2 gallons left, wort stops flowing out of the valve until I use my spatula to scrape trub off the bazooka filter. After I clear it, it will run a little, then stop...

Bazooka Filter and Brew in a Bag

I've always double milled on this system. I recently bought a false bottom and used it on my most recent brew, a witbier with over 60% flaked wheat, and it didn't clog as much, but I still had to lift the kettle pretty high when I got down to the last 2 gal or so

Bazooka Filter and Brew in a Bag

I use a 10 gallon kettle for brew in a bag with a bazooka filter attached to the ball valve inside the kettle. This does a great job of keeping trub out of my fermenter, but recently it has been clogging when my wort gets down to about 2 gallons left. I usually have to brush of the trub that...

What I did for beer today

Yesterday I cleaned up the brew space a bit, brewed a Baltic Porter and kegged an 8% winter saison. Used saisonstein from Omega Yeast. That is a weird yeast! Lots of bubblegum and a little bit of black pepper. Force carbed, excited to have a glass later today!
