Thanks, a 12 ton I will try. My my press is being built out of Amish cut 4x4s of white oak. I will double up the pieces to make 4x8" and 12" thick with a butt load of 12 inch carrier bolts holding it together. I will post pic when done. I built the box out of pine with a copper tube coming out...
I'm making a moderately large cider press. My mold for the ground up apples and straining bags are 18"x18"x4" I will have 4 -5 of these layers with wooden racks in between. Will a 12 ton work fine or should I step up to a twenty ton. I'd prefer to do 12 ton since its a lower profile jack. Thanks.

I'm giving some thought to making a sweet fortified plum wine using slivovitz or some other clear plum brandy. Adding liquor to the wine while half to 3/4 way fermented to arrest yeast for sweetness. I then plan to age in a 10 gallon wine barrel.

I've acquired a larger fermentor. But will have to brew twice to fill it due smaller brew pot and mash tuns.
Is there anything wrong with fermenting my first batch on day one, then on day 2 or 3 whenever wort is at high krauesen, brew a 2nd batch to add to the active ferment?

Looking to build or buy an apple grinder. Found an affordable metal one online for 2 hundred something bucks. I would post a pic or link but am having trouble figureing this new tablet. So, has anybody used one? If so what do you think? I'll need to grind around 3-6 bushels next year.

What about your rubber o rings and clear plastic poppets do they get removed and done separately or can they handle the heat? I think I'm buying new ones anyhow.
Hi all, long time brewer of all grain here from ohio but new to this forum.
I would like to first clean of course, then pour 180 to 200 degree water in to sanitize. I have used iodopher and starsan for years on these kegs. I just want to kill any potential resistance bugs just to be sure...
