Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Ginger Ale - 3rd place 2009 HBT BJCP Comp

Still new to brewing, any reason why after 17 days my fg is only 1.024? Noticed everyone is fermenting way out.

Fruit and Spice Beer Blood Orange Belgian Wit

What would be a good way to sweeten this back up? I dropped to a 1.002 fg

    Beer line length

Heck yeah! Feeling much better about it now that I have it all figured out.:ban:

    Beer line length

Well, now that I ordered 100’ of 3/16 tubing. I realized what the other problem most likely was. I bought a picnic tap assembly. I did not piece it myself, and what my lhbs sold me came with 5/16 ID tubing.:smh:

Awesome. Then I will buy it this time! Thank you for all the replies. Kinda stinks that with so many things on the Internet, there’s not really a way to tell which things are false or accurate when you’re so green. Thank god for this site :tank:

    Beer line length

Oooh I guess the wording was confusing me. Still though, can you look here: http://beersmith.com/blog/2011/07/14/keg-line-length-balancing-the-science-of-draft-beer/ This is what I was going by. I don’t understand why it would such a difference in beer length. This is what led me to believe my...

    Beer line length

So is the seconds being the input into that box? Because when you enter a random number like 20 seconds all of a sudden you’re increasing the line :(

    Beer line length

I believe the one I was using was on beer smith. And yes I did release the pressure. I just used straight formula, didn’t have anything to do with flow rate or anything. I did see the one you posted as well and I didn’t really bother with it being that it says a lower flow rate increases foam...

    Beer line length

i kegged a cider about a week ago at about 10 psi. I’ve read many people say 10ft lines are the way to go, and I’ve also clicked on the beer line calculators I’ve seen posted. The picnic tap assembly I have I believe is 5ft. According to the caluculator, 3-4 ft is supposed to be good. However I...

    Too much co2

Oops, I guess I didn’t necessarily mean that. Does the burning when you smell it ever change? Or is that something that happens with every brew and is still there when you open a bottle?

    Too much co2

Do I just bottle it as is or let it keep sitting? Will the co2 disepate or it is what it is?

    Too much co2

Honestly it was an extract kit that came with my first brew equip kit ‍♀️ I was just following the directions as they were since I didn’t know any better. At the end of that time though, my fg was at what the directions said, however I guess that doesn’t not actually mean my own batch was done...

    Too much co2

Fermenting in primary bucket, not carboy. Racked off yeast on 1/29. Not touching it for kegging or bottling until I learn what’s up

    Too much co2

so I did a kit chocolate stout on 1/19 at one point racked of yeast and added nibs. Check it out about a week ago (brand new to brewing) and I thought it had gone bad. Smelled pretty funky... a friend finally check it out yesterday and informed me there is A LOT of co2 in it. This conclusion...

Fruit and Spice Beer Blood Orange Belgian Wit

Funny enough, that comment is actually perfect! I was hoping to boost the sweetness as I’m more of a fruity drinker. This recipe just sounded pretty darn good and wanted to give it a try. Started wondering though if the puree would really just impart more of just flavor and not the sweetness...
