I did this a couple of year's ago with this recipe. I think I did all of my additions in the last 20 min of the boil and scaled up on the hops amount to hit the IBUs. Turned out very piney tasting. Not green of or off in any way, just intensely piney from the hops. Hate to admit this, but...
Any thoughts on 'Imperial'-izing this recipe to end up with an Imperial Red Rye? For me, I'd need the extra fermentables to come from DME additions because I only have a 5 gal cooler to mash in.

Drinking a few EdWort's Haus Pale Ale made with Sterling Hops. Brewed up a Red Rye Ale today with my new Blichmann Burner. Love that thing!! Super even heat and no noise like the crawfish burner I have been using. Plus no carbon build up on the bottom of the brew pot to clean up.

Brewed up EdWorts Haus Pale Ale this past weekend with Sterling Hops in place of Cascade. Missed OG by 2 points - don't think I boiled off enough. Bubbling nicely now.
