    Airation problem?

    In the midst of transferring my 6.3% ABV porter into secondary..my Auto-Cyphen failed on me! :( So, in order to get the beer into the secondary carboy I ended up having to use the funnel and pour the beer from primary to secondary. This obviously introduced a ton of oxygen into the beer...

    Does anyone know if adding coconut water would be a way to increase the coconut flavor? Although, the sugars in the coconut water would likely ferment out.

    I recently got the the ingrediants to make a Kolsch ale, including White Labs liquid Kolsch yeast. I just realized that you are supposed to lager this beer after a fairly cold fermentation. I think that the coldest that I can ferment this would be about 64 degrees. And I cannot lager it...

    Metallic/Cardboard Flavor KEEPS COMING BACK TO HAUNT ME!!!

    I have a similar problem. I get a sharp taste on the back end that I am almost positive comes from some aspect of bottling. I know this because when i sample the beer prior to bottling, the beer tastes great and does not have this sharp after taste. Did you ever rule out what the cause was?

    Bottling Procedures

    If you haven't heard this already, Keep a spray bottle on hand that is full of sanitizer. Makes for quick sanitizing, in all situations.
