    Secondary started bubbling like Primary!

Just an update: I transferred to bottles last week and took a sample as I took the grav reading and...bubblegum. Bleh. I've read the article on "Don't Dump your Beer" so I'll be shoving this box of bottles wayyyy back in the closet and let it sit a few months. On the plus side, my mom...

Peanut Butter Porter W/Powdered Peanut Butter

Noob question: Would the powdered PB coagulate if you were to add it closer to the beginning of the boil? Would it help impart a bit more PB flavor?

A very drunken wuzzup to my fellow LA/OC area brewers. Question: Has anyone in the area brewed the Steam Beer kit from Stein Fillers HBS? If so, any tips or changes to the recipe? Is the lagering step recommended? Also, anyone on these forums belong to the Long Beach Brewers...

    No Carbonation in capped bottles

Good news. My dad and I decided it was time to crack open another capped bottle to see if carbonation had increased. We moved the bottles from the closet into the refrigerator for about a day before we opened them. Keep in mind at this point, the bottles have now been conditioned for about 3...

    DIY Thief Help

Unfortunately, the weight of the water is too heavy for the suction in an 3/8" diameter pvc pipe. The fluid just rushes out in a second. That is why I was wondering if a tapered nozzle type end would allow better suction.

    Question on yeast washing technique

I wonder if I can put my old Mr. Beer fermentor to use the way CheshreCat describes the sun tea jugs. Too bad its not as transparent as the sun tea jugs.

    Question on yeast washing technique

Thanks Jmiltime. I'll look at Mr. Malty in order to wean myself off of ordering a vile of yeast every time I want to brew.

    DIY Thief Help

Hmmm, considering a regular baster isn't long enough to get down into my 6.5gal carboy pass the krausen, maybe I can use some pvc as an extension to the baster. Thx mate!

    DIY Thief Help

I want a thief, but 1. I don't want to spend $15+ shipping and 2. I like ghetto fabulous equipment That being said, I figure I can buy some pvc pipe, and install some sort of tapered tip on the receiving end and use a bulb or just my thumb at the opposite end for suction. Does anyone...

    Question on yeast washing technique

wow, I washed yeast for the first time yesterday and had the same concern and my name is matt too...weird. Anyway, I decided to pour the yeasty water out of my carboy by hand because it was too shallow to siphon for me. I got mostly yeasty water in the first pour, but the bottom sediment got...
