First Attempt at Carbonated Hop Water

I don't have my recipe in front of me but I think I can get close. I crushed 1oz of Special B and added it to 2-liters of 150F filtered water in my instant Pot, sous vide setting. After 1 hour, I poured that through a fine mesh filter into a gallon pitcher, then back into the Instant Pot, set to...

    What if not beer?

I shared it with my homebrew club and one guy said it looked like "Elite Homeless Series Fermentation Kit". Another said it gave "Brew in a Bag" a whole new meaning. I was just trying to protect the hops from the light. 🤣

    What if not beer?

My seltzer recipe is as simple as it gets: 64oz bottle of Juicy Juice and 2 gallons of water. I have a test batch of hop water going right now. I wanted some malt flavor and active yeast so I used 1 oz of grain in 2 liters, but it will still have less alcohol than a ripe banana.

First Attempt at Carbonated Hop Water

A friend of mine quit alcohol but still wants something beer-ish to drink so I made a test batch based on Lagunitas Hoppy Refresher. I scaled everything down to 2 liters and added 1 ounce of Special B to help the yeast wake up and give it a slight maltiness. Technically, it will have a bit of...

    Culture Pop probiotic soda

I've actually just been enjoying fruit seltzer, mixing 64oz juice with 2 gallons of water and carbing. I still have those probiotic drops marked though and am thinking about treating one bottle of juice then adding a second one when I keg to sweeten it a bit.

What are you listening to (music!!!) right now? Embarrassing or not... share

The first couple of weeks, it really bugged me. Now it's the new normal and I'm surprised when I realize another song is getting play-time up there. Those breaks never last very long though and I am humming Sunshine before long.

What are you listening to (music!!!) right now? Embarrassing or not... share

This has been bouncing around in my head for about 6 months now. When it first started playing up there, I didn't even know what song it was and had to hum it for Google. I wasn't born yet when it came out and I still have no idea how it got in my head...

    Problems with Tap Trailer

We currently run the washers at about 20 psi and the kegs at 5psi but our gas manifold doesn't have any check valves so when we burp all the kegs and set the regulator at 5psi, within 5 minutes it will be up to 15 psi. They shortened the lines because the beer sitting in the lines was getting...

    Problems with Tap Trailer

We keep the kegs on ice. No plates or coils. I suggested a plate chiller but the trailer ended up being bought, built and donated by one very generous member so he got to decide the particulars. It actually performed well for a couple of years but recently developed this problem so I think...

    Problems with Tap Trailer

It's a dual body regulator, so on the CO2 tank.

    Problems with Tap Trailer

I considered that. We already have a secondary regulator and use the high pressure to run the glass washers. Our gas manifold is also 2 6's that could be separated. That would limit us to 6 beers or 6 seltzers though when we are often 8:2 or 7:3, and once 2:8.

    Problems with Tap Trailer

My club has a 10 tap trailer that we take to beerfests. We have been having a problem lately that all the seltzers we serve pour fine but the beers are all foamy. I believe this is because our gas side has no back-flow prevention or it stopped working so the higher pressures are going back...
