    Fishing!

Called Pyramid lake in Reno NV. Take a look online at some of the pics of the Lahontan cutthroat caught there, the one I'm holding is normal on a long day. Pretty wild place but the ladders keep you out of the water while you fish the shelf

    Fishing!

Big fan of fishing. Used to guide fly fishing in college and it was the best job I ever had. Excited to go on our annual fishing/biking trip to Colorado this summer...only this time I'll have some home brews!

    Pulling for a gravity reading

Is there a better way to pull a sample from your fermenter to test gravity than a racking cane?

I'm sure us been covered but...

Lowtone, It had not been above 68. It was holding at 66 when I left and 66 when I got back. I had read sometimes you might want to transfer it to secondary but fermentation after a week is still steady so I would think you wouldn't want to kill that by transferring.

I'm sure us been covered but...

My apologies as I'm sure this has been covered before: I brewed a double IPA clone. Within 12 hours the krausen had begun to get towards the top of my car boy and I fixed a blow off tube. After another 48 hours no more krausen had been coming through so I refixed the bubbler and took off for...

Where to ferment on the temperature scale

Hey guys, I have noticed all wyeast I get there is a 10 degree range in optimum fermentation temperatures. However can you tell what of those is most ideal? Is it better to ferment at the low end or the high end?

    Kegging questions

I appreciate it guys. Talla- you mentioned aging your ipa while carbonating. How long do you carbonate for? Seems to be a lot of different schools of thought on this one

    Kegging questions

Hi everyone, new to brewing and I have a few keg questions. I have read the thread on using kegs as a secondary but I am still a little confused in a couple of things: 1) Are you adding just enough carbonation to seal the keg or are you carbonating it to it's ideal carbonation for the...
