Using CounterFlow Chiller for first time.

Ok, that sounds good. Do I even have to do the oxyclean? I bought this as an IC from MidwestSupplies, and have only run cold tap water through it. So will I be able to just run straight vinegar through a few time and call it clean. As far as storing...I will store it dry. I was mainly...

Bayou SP10 burner question for 40 qt stockpot. Large enough cooking surface?

No you won't need anything extra. The pot will barely hang over the edge, but it won't matter in your case. Well, I dont have anything else to compare it to, but when I crank it up it sounds like a jet :)

Bayou SP10 burner question for 40 qt stockpot. Large enough cooking surface?

That one inch extra diameter of your pot is nothing to worry about. Is your pot flat on the bottom? If so, it's fine. I have a converted keg on my SP10. I have to use an old grill grate because the rim of the keg is 15"...but it still works fine.

I have no idea. Shoprite Brand Distilled White Vinegar.

Using CounterFlow Chiller for first time.

Yep, 3/4" hose for the outer tube. Ok cool. I just wanted to make sure that using Iodophor was OK. I wasn't sure if it had to fully dry to be safe. Also, the cleaning procedure seems ok? How much Oxyclean should be used for 5 gallons of water for something like this? And vinegar...would 1...

Stainless Steel 15 gallon pot....should i drill into it for valve?

I cut a hole in my keg with a 3/4" hole saw and use PAM for oil. Works like a charm.

Using CounterFlow Chiller for first time.

Ok, I've done some a lot of searching and reading, but I want to ask a few final questions before using my CFC for the first time. A little background...I had a 50' IC of 1/2" tubing that I converted to a counterflow chiller. So, first things first...I have yet to clean this bad boy. I...

Fly Sparge VS Batch Sparge: Facts

there's a reason you haven't found hard evidence of the final results... Because there isn't any :) Theoretically, all things being equal, fly spargeing will yield higher efficiency. Fly spargeing may also increase the risk of leeching tannins from the grains but I don't remember ever hearing...

Hole size in sparge ring or a mesh in the lauter tun?

What I want to know is where you got that raisable luater tun!!! Do you do the 'Brew in a Bag' method of brewing?

    Quickest brewday EVER!

Yea, what do you mean by no sparge? I'm actually thinking of doing something like this on my next batch. I have plenty of room in my mash tun, so I was thinking I will mash with the normal amount of water, then after the 60 minute mash, dump ALL the sparge water in and do one big drain into...

Is your LHBS taking advantage of the Shortage?

Well, I have officially shattered my personal 'Longest Thread' record. Just have to say to Forrest -- Thanks for the excellent product!! You will be my 'Sorta-Local HBS' for the time being, unless you start ripping me off, :)

Is your LHBS taking advantage of the Shortage?

To take his comment a step further...we need a valid reason why the price went up, or we won't shop there :)

Is your LHBS taking advantage of the Shortage?

**DELETED ENTRY** BLAH, not even worth it. Regardless of what that guy says there is a grain shortage affecting prices of every grain based product. But not like that. And I dont feel that I or anyone should just say, yea...let all the other ******-bags buy grain from this guy. That's why I...

Is your LHBS taking advantage of the Shortage?

I recently went to a LHBS near me to buy ingredients. I left with some Iodophor... I hate that place first of all, because you have to buy the grain in their special increments. For instance, I can't get 5oz of Roasted Barley...I have to buy a whole pound. The Problem is, they are charging...
