    bottling with the blichmann

you can use whatever pressure you want, just keep it low enough so things dont foam too much. about 5-8psi seems to work well

    Yeast starter wort storage

quick question...when you pressure cook starter wort in the canning jars: 1. do you store that in the fridge or is it ok on the shelf at room temperature? 2. what is the shelf life? i have no experience with canning, so i am not quite sure about that. thanks guys! BAM

How long do you aerate with O2?

How long would you guys aerate a 5gal batch of wort with O2 (diffusion stone attached)? Talking about standard red canister of O2 from hardware store. i've read a couple blasts of 30 secs each should do it. Don't want to under do it or over do it. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Interrupted Boil - ran out of propane

i found a pretty neat valve that you can attach between the tank and burner that shows the amount of gas left in tank. It is reminescent of a gas tank meter. found it at target, if that helps. it at least provides peace of mind seeing as i can tell when it is getting low! brandon

    Should I strain/filter?

i agree. i've done it both ways. the only issue will be that you will have to avoid more trub when you transfer to secondary. more of a technical issue. won't effect taste tho.

    Secondary and Carboy Question

6 or 6.5 gallon for primary will be fine. if you go with 6 gallon, will probably want to use a blow-off tube. 6.5 gallon carboy probably doesn't need it. personally, i use the blow-off tube with all primary ferms. don't use the plastic bucket for secondary. you may run into some oxidation isues.
